The Empty Heart

Empty road

Your face, has made a home

In my mind

Your smile, it kissed your eyes

And warmed all of me inside

Your hands, oh how they traced

Patterns down my spine

Your fingers, they were experts

Setting ablaze every curve of mine

But all this matters not

You’re gone and memories remain

Taking away the sunshine

Leaving behind a hollow pain

Between two lungs my empty heart sits

Waiting, hoping, mindlessly beating

Hoping, one day someone again fits.
